Job Summary
Pre‑licensure graduates of an accredited nursing program who actively participate in the SSM Health New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Under the direction of a registered nurse, provide care to patients within scope of role and professional standards. Responsible for the delivery of age‑appropriate care for assigned patients with a wide variety of medical conditions.
Eligibility- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Eligible to practice as determined by State Board of Nursing
- One year experience or less working as an RN
- Full time schedule: 7a‑7p or 7p‑7a
- Under the direction of the RN preceptor, performs delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in performing nursing care activities for the population served.
- Performs patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age‑appropriate needs, developing, evaluating, and modifying patient plans of care.
- Develops realistic, comprehensive patient family education plans and provides health education and coaching.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation, including processing physician orders and following policies and procedures.
- Monitors and evaluates delivery of nursing care given by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
- Participates in training to understand and perform patient care.
- Completes competency requirements satisfactorily.
- Completes training as required; seeks assistance and asks questions to learn and understand role.
- Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide practice.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
- For Illinois: official passing score on NCLEX results.
- No experience required.
- For Illinois:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association;
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) within 3 months of official NCLEX pass date;
Official NCLEX pass letter required. - For Missouri and Oklahoma:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP); status may be fail on the NCLEX within 3 months of graduation date;
Pearson VUE;
State of work location:
Missouri and Oklahoma. - For Wisconsin:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP); status may be fail on the NCLEX within 3 months of graduation date;
Pearson VUE; WI Nursing Temporary Permit;

Wisconsin.
