Description

The purpose of the skilled mechanic is to identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and make necessary repairs. As well as providing an excellent and consistent service quality product through proper diagnosis, repair, cleaning, and documentation of each unit.

• Repair and maintain gasoline engines (sometimes diesel) used to power equipment such as lawn mowers, portable saws, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, generators, sod cutters, sod rollers, and plate compactors.
• Adjusts points, clean & repair valves, carburetors, distributors, spark plug gaps, and filters.
• Knowledge to dissemble and reassemble small engines after repair or maintenance work is completed.
• Ability to record repairs made, time spent, and parts used.
• Performs routine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling parts, honing cylinders, tuning ignition systems, sharpening & replacing blades, belts, pulleys, and tires.
• Test and inspect problems to determine malfunctions to locate missing and/or broken parts, and to verify equipment works after repairs have been made.

• Must provide your own tools.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical repair knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license and certifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work well with others while showing/helping fellow employees how to maintain equipment.
