Instructional Aide

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks an Instructional Aide 1:1 to support a single K-12 student with special needs in our specialized classrooms. Working under a special education teacher, you will implement individualized education and behavior plans, provide direct academic and behavioral support, collect data on goals, and assist with daily living and social skills. You will help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, collaborate with teachers and clinicians, communicate with families as directed, and participate in ongoing training to grow your skills in special education and behavior support.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic and behavioral support to an assigned K-12 student with special needs
• Implement individualized education and behavior intervention plans under teacher direction
• Support instruction by reinforcing lessons, modifying work, and assisting with classroom activities
• Collect and record data on student goals, behavior, and progress
• Assist with social skills, communication, and daily living skills as appropriate to the student
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic classroom environment
• Use de-escalation and crisis-prevention strategies following established protocols
• Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and related service providers as part of the student's support team
• Communicate observations and concerns to the teacher and team; assist with family communication as directed
• Participate in required trainings and professional development in special education and behavior support
