Maintains a neat, efficient and safe work area.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and testing of the agency’s electrical distribution systems including exit and emergency lighting. Assist in the maintenance, service, and installation of fire alarm systems. Assist with the coordination and installation of raceways for the agency networking and communications. Work with contractors and sub-contractors from sketches and blueprints to building code standards. Maintain a neat, efficient and safe work area.
2. Plan and perform preventive maintenance for physical plant and electrical equipment. Update preventive maintenance schedule, as needed.
3. Perform duties related to special construction projects. Work with contractors and sub-contractors, as assigned.
4. Assist in the maintenance of HVAC systems and water/sewage systems.
5. Perform a variety of complex maintenance of physical plant and equipment including rough carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and equipment/ facilities repairs on campus and at the agencies satellite facilities, as requested.
6. Provide directions to Maintenance Worker II and I, temporary workers, and volunteers, as it relates to the position’s area of expertise and when working on special projects.
7. Assist with snow and ice removal from walkways and roads, as needed.
8. Prepare appropriate records and paperwork related to the completion of work assignments.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEA.
REQUIRED:
1. High School graduate or equivalent experience. Exceptions will be considered based on agency need and experience related to the position.
2. Journeyman level electrical installation and/or electrical maintenance experience.
3. Journeyman license eligible.
4. Valid driver’s license with a valid driving record.
