Percussion Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Percussion Teacher to provide private and group lessons in our retail store. In this role, you'll teach students of all ages and skill levels, focusing on proper technique, rhythm, reading music, and performance skills. You'll create customized lesson plans, prepare students for recitals and school performances, and track progress. You'll collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and repairs, and help promote lessons.

This position is ideal for a working musician or educator who loves teaching and wants to support music education in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and group percussion lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop individualized lesson plans focused on technique, rhythm, reading, and performance
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction and goals accordingly
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances
• Maintain accurate student records, schedules, and attendance
• Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment, rentals, and accessory sales
• Communicate regularly with parents and students about goals and progress
• Promote Music & Arts programs and events within the local community
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
• Stay current on percussion teaching methods and repertoire
