This Full-Time Non-Exempt position is based on a 40-hour work week with a pay rate of TBD.
Pay Rate: $67,275.00 - $90,562.50
This position is part of the Public Employees Union (PEU) collective bargaining agreement. The individual in this position will work out of the Community Sustainability Building located at 1900 2nd Ave N, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (which are not in any hierarchical order)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:
- Knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing, zoning, energy and disabled access codes and regulations affecting work.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction and related materials and tools.
- Knowledge of basic code compliance and use and occupancy compliance requirements and codes.
- Knowledge of minimum housing code.
- Skill in providing good customer service.
- Skill in the use of a variety of office equipment including personal computers and related software.
- Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and five (4) years construction experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires State licensure as a Building, Residential and Commercial Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing Inspector or ability to obtain within one (1) year of date of employment or qualify for the inspector intern program. A valid Florida driver's license is required. National Incident Management System (NIMS) Series IS 100, IS 200, IS 559, IS 700, IS 800 certifications must be attained within six (6) months of hire date and others as needed for EOC position assigned.
