Sacred Heart Catholic School located in Lake Worth Beach, FL is searching for a part-time Aftercare Activities Leader and Counselor.

Essential Communication Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide safe, structured, and engaging supervision for students during aftercare hours.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate enrichment activities including games, arts and crafts, homework support, sports, and group projects.
• Prepare activities, materials and lessons for counselors
• Train counselors on implementation of activities
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment where all students feel supported and valued.
• Serve as a counselor and mentor by promoting social-emotional growth, teamwork, and positive peer interactions.
• Maintain consistent behavior expectations and implement school-approved discipline strategies when needed.
• Monitor student attendance, sign-in/sign-out procedures, and ensure proper supervision at all times.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student needs, behavior, or concerns.
• Assist students with homework completion and encourage good study habits when appropriate.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to injuries, emergencies, or safety concerns, following school protocols.
• Support the development of student independence, responsibility, and leadership through guided activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized aftercare space and ensure materials are used safely and respectfully.
• Collaborate with other aftercare staff to coordinate schedules, activities, and student support plans.
• Uphold all school policies regarding confidentiality, child safety, and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• DCF Credentials
• Primetime Experience-After school Programs
• Experience working in After school Program
• Experience preparing and managing activities for after school groups
• Ability to lead counselors in implementation of after school activities
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and make responsible judgment calls.
• Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, departments heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public.
• Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capacity.
• Ability to stay focused and organized.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good business judgment.
• Strong ethical values.
• Adheres to the Diocese of Palm Beach Code of Conduct
• Reliable insured vehicle and ability to travel to locations within the Diocese of Palm Beach

Physical Requirements

• Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
• Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, climbing, stretching and kneeling
• Frequent use of both hands and fingers
• Occasional moments of minimal and routine hearing
