About this role

Responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management and oversight of assigned programs. Coordinates and supervises with faculty and staff. Accountable for the fiscal management, administration, and coordination of programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop long-range goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations.
  • Monitor projects to ensure maximum effectiveness and compliance.
  • Act as a college liaison for programs and services with outside agencies or community leaders.
  • Communicate program information internally.
  • Consult and advise within area of expertise.
  • Advise students and faculty on departmental issues and requirements.
  • Assist instructors with specific needs as requested.
  • Respond to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions such as clarification of college or campus policy and procedures.
  • Participate in various meetings and committees.
  • Travel to meetings between college locations and for other purposes.
  • Publicize available student courses and programs and identify target students.
  • Guide, lead, review, verify, observe, and manage the work of people reporting directly to the program director.
  • Coordinate activities of staff and assist in scheduling and administrative requirements (student workers, part-time, full-time, temporary, volunteers).
  • Analyze and interpret program performance data.
  • Conduct needs assessment to identify knowledge, skills, behaviors, and competencies needed to design curriculum.
  • Write and prepare curriculum, instructor guides, student guides, handouts, and other materials for classroom delivery.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.
  • Strong customer-service skills and attention to detail.
  • Time and task management skills.
  • Ability to implement and manage programs.
  • Positive interaction with diverse populations and varying education levels.
  • Organize and prioritize competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, building relationships and managing customer expectations.
  • Regular physical attendance required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Related experience in trade programs.
  • Earned industry-recognized credential in AWS, NIMS, HVAC Excellence, NCCER, or other trades related credential.
Physical Demands / Work Environment

Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds. Reach and grasp objects. Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Stand for extended periods. Use of video display terminal. Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Communicate information orally and in writing. Proofread and check documents for accuracy. Work a fluctuating schedule.
