Job SummaryResponsible for student advisement and organizing activities for post‑secondary access and guidance to dual enrolled, early admission, prospective, and newly admitted students. Facilitates enrollment and helps students achieve their educational goals by providing information on academic pathways, acceleration options, goal setting, career guidance, financial literacy, testing, and referrals.
Responsibilities- Advise students on course of study, course offerings, necessary testing, and prerequisites.
- Assist students in understanding educational, personal, and occupational strengths and limitations.
- Use college and career exploration tools and individual coaching to build confidence in college decisions.
- Coordinate and present college transition workshops and assist with planning and implementation of orientation for student outreach programs.
- Plan and implement program activities and share strategies for academic advising and enrollment services.
- Customize delivery of information for varying audiences, including high school students, staff, parents, local employers, and community partners.
- Educate prospective students on college benefits, build awareness of options, and foster a college‑going identity.
- Track student progress by monitoring onboarding activity and registration data.
- Assist with course registration, including required paperwork and online registration.
- Provide guidance on financial aid programs and advise on major or program selection.
- Analyze placement test results and identify areas requiring further attention.
- Maintain current knowledge of the field and profession.
- Travel to designated high schools, meetings, and professional association events outside of the College as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One year of related experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
- Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) within 30 days of employment.
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management.
- Managing and resolving conflict in a positive manner.
- Utilizing various video conference platforms.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service.
- Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Work with individual students to develop multiple models of academic success.
- Organize and prioritize multiple competing priorities.
- Travel to other campus and off‑campus locations.
- Work in a variety of settings to deliver services to students.
- Master’s degree.
- Experience working with high school students or adults to provide academic and career advising.
- Experience with at‑risk populations.
- Knowledge of issues influencing the academic potential of culturally and educationally diverse populations.
- Knowledge of student financial aid.
- Bilingual speaking.
Special Requirements
- Regular physical attendance required.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Extended work hours may be required, including nights, weekends, and college closures.
- Reach and grasp objects; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; stand for extended periods; use a video display terminal; use manual dexterity and fine motor skills; communicate orally and in writing; proofread documents; operate a motor vehicle.
Minimum annual base pay is $44,587.00, with the final salary offer contingent on education, experience, and availability of grant funds. This is a grant‑funded position with a fixed salary range.
