Job Summary
Responsible for providing tutoring assistance for students within the discipline area of expertise. Duties include assisting students with coursework, learning strategies, and overall academic skills development. Base Pay: $16.51 per hour.
Responsibilities- Conduct tutoring sessions with individual or multiple students in person and virtual environments.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggestions on student assignments.
- Create an engaging learning environment and enhance student confidence and interest in learning.
- Maintain awareness of current College and department policies and guidelines.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Communication College Readiness (ENC
0017 & ENC
0052), Language Arts, Business English Composition 1 & 2, Fundamentals of Speech Communication (SPC
1017), All Levels of EAP (English for Academic Purposes) - TESOL Studies Skills (SLS
1501).
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Must effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English and Spanish with internal and external customers, build relationships, and manage customer expectations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar application.
- Content within the tutoring discipline.
- Skilled in delivering a high level of customer service and conveying knowledge of the tutorial discipline to others.
- Ability to interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- In-person and remote tutoring experience.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Creole.
The job requires:
- Use of video display terminals.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Reading, writing and proofreading skills.
- Occasional driving and a fluctuating work schedule.
- Ability to reach and grasp objects and distinguish colors.
