Overview
Join our team at Palm Beach State College. As the Panthers, we seek creative individuals to help PBSC fulfill its mission of inspiring hope, advancing skills, and transforming lives. This role involves providing comprehensive student advisement and coordinating program-related activities, supporting program operations, and delivering educational, vocational, and personal counseling to students, with a focus on low-income, potential first-generation college attendees.
The position requires a fluctuating schedule, including nights and weekends, and is grant-funded with continued employment contingent on grant funding.
- Advises students on course of study, course offerings, necessary testing, and prerequisites.
- Guides students and staff and answers questions regarding financial aid programs.
- Serves as liaison on special projects.
- Assists students in selecting a major or program and understanding educational, personal, and occupational strengths and limitations.
- Develops and maintains positive relations with the community to promote College partnerships and collaboration.
- Qualifies, registers, and monitors students in recruitment and retention programs.
- Assists students with issues via in-person, phone, email, and online chat; assists with registration paperwork and system registration.
- Analyzes test results and identifies areas requiring further attention.
- Coordinates or assists with implementing the program’s goals, objectives, and evaluation procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of their field; attends training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional association events as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year of related experience
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
- Fact-finding, analysis, and problem solving
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers; build relationships, manage expectations, and provide a high level of service
- Demonstrate critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Organize and prioritize multiple competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
- Research information for problem solving
Special Requirements
- Regular physical attendance required
- Valid Florida driver’s license

- Teaching experience

Salary and TermThis is a grant-funded position with a fixed salary range. The minimum annual base pay is $44,587.00, with the final salary offer contingent on the candidate’s education and experience, and the availability of grant funds. This position is open until filled with a first review anticipated June 1, 2026.
