About this role
Responsible for instructing students at the Early College Summer Academy (ECSA), a program designed to support potential first‑generation college students in gaining the skills and motivation necessary to participate in dual enrollment, finish secondary education, enter post‑secondary education, and earn an AA/AS before graduating from high school. The academy emphasizes preparation in college and career readiness and subjects related to college placement tests (Accuplacer, PERT, or TABE).
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Develop discipline‑related curricula, assess student learning, and participate in program evaluation and college activities.
- Instruct middle and high‑school students in accordance with educational theories and techniques to prepare them for success in a dual enrollment program.
- Maintain college and department standards in support of the College’s mission and strategic plan.
- Teach in a highly interactive environment for students in grades 6 through 12.
- Use educational software to monitor student progress with pre‑ and post‑assessments, ensure all students take diagnostic tests, evaluate data, and use it to drive instruction.
- Provide individual assistance to ensure each student is on track to succeed on readiness exams within allotted time frames.
- Generate progress reports for students and ECSA staff.
- Organize and conduct activities, field trips, college visits, and other experiential learning opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Florida teaching certification.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or a similar application.
- Skill in teaching and motivating students to succeed.
- Effective time and task management with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflict in a positive manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Ability to build relationships and manage customer expectations.
- Positive interaction with diverse populations and varying education levels.
- Ability to work with individual students to develop multiple models of academic success.
- Knowledge of Edgeunity software.

- Proofread and check documents for accuracy.
- Operate a motor vehicle.
- Work a fluctuating work schedule.
Varies – Base Pay: $27.00. Offer amount based on the College’s Salary Schedule guidelines.
