The Wide Format Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lake Worth, FL, responsible for overseeing all aspects of wide format print and sign production. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing job workflow from proof to final output, operating and maintaining wide format printers, cutters, and finishing equipment, and ensuring print quality and color consistency. The role involves scheduling and prioritizing jobs, coordinating with sales and customer service teams, and monitoring inventory of materials such as substrates, inks, and laminates.
The manager will also supervise production staff, enforce safety and quality standards, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support continuous improvement in production processes to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Wide format production skills, including operation of large-format printers, cutters, laminators, and finishing equipment.
- Experience with print layout, prepress, and file preparation using design and RIP software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, large-format RIPs).
- Strong understanding of materials and processes, including substrates, inks, color management, and installation requirements for signs and graphics.
- Production planning and workflow management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple jobs and meet tight deadlines.
- Team leadership and communication skills, including supervising staff, delegating tasks, and collaborating with sales and customer service.
- Quality control and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and consistency in finished products.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and basic equipment maintenance in a print and sign shop environment.
- Previous experience in commercial printing, signage, or wide format production management; supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in printing, graphics, or related fields is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed, and work on-site in a fast-paced production environment.
