Responsible for coordination of new construction and remodeling in accordance with project specifications. Ensures project budget, schedules, safety standards, and quality standards are maintained throughout the process. Coordinates scheduling of personnel, equipment, contractors, and resources and provides communication and reporting to project management and facilities planning regarding progress and conflicts.
What a day of a Construction Coordinator looks like :
Participates in estimating and bidding projects, contract negotiations and change orders.
Schedules crews, reviews project timelines and expectations, and supervises work and job quality.
Identifies, hires, and monitors labor, contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
Interprets drawings, graphs, maps, blueprints, bid documents, contracts, proposals, and specifications.
Creates and coordinates the completion of punch out list for each phase of construction.
Serves as journeyman level trades worker for the project and College.
Promotes a safe work environment, holds crews accountable to safe work practices.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or experience accepted in lieu of degree
Three years of experience supervising construction
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
Skilled in:
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
Ability to:
Interpret blueprints and related symbols
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Regular physical attendance required
Valid Florida driver’s license
Preferred, but not a must :
Knowledge of:
Bluebeam construction software
Google Sheets or similar application
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
- OSHA 10 or 30 Authorization
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
Reach and grasp objects
Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Stand for extended periods of time
Use of video display terminal
Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
Identify and distinguish colors and shades of color
Communicate information orally and in writing
Receive and understand information through oral and written communication
Proofread and check documents for accuracy
Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury
Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions
Risk for occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens
Operate motor vehicle
Work a fluctuating work schedule
