The Police Department of the Village of Lake Zurich is seeking candidates for the position of Records Clerk
. The Police Department is located at 200 Mohawk Trail in Lake Zurich. Business hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Performs intermediate-level administrative support work, including reviewing and approving reports, maintaining files, utilizing records software and databases, processing requests, fees and notifications, and completing related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Records Supervisor.
General Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
:
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all records and documents.
- Process traffic citations, ordinance violations, and crash and miscellaneous non-criminal reports.
- Prepare transmittals to the Lake County Circuit Clerk's Office for arrests and citations.
- Process subpoenas and requests for records from both public and private entities, including the Lake County State's Attorney's Office and the Village Prosecutor.
- Process administrative tow fees and lienholder notifications and serve as the Court Clerk for police matters in adjudication hearing proceedings.
- Oversee the status of citation fine collections.
- Manage division accreditation proofs.
- Provide direct customer service to the public at the service window or by telephone or email.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and two or more years of experience in an office environment. Previous government or police records experience is preferred. Applicant must obtain LEADS LTFA certification within 6 months of employment.
Successful candidates must be able to multitask and possess strong communication, organizational, administrative, and customer service skills. Selected candidate must also successfully complete a background check and post-offer employment physical examination including a drug screening.
Compensation and BenefitsThe starting hourly rate is $25.24 per hour, approximately $52,500 annually. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave, and participation in the IMRF pension fund.
