Construction Estimator

Position Overview

Full‑time, in‑office role for Construction Estimator.

Responsibilities include the initial review of construction estimates in Xactimate and Symbility, providing detailed line‑item notes with feedback and recommendations that align with company goals. The estimator also creates construction estimates from the ground up, using digital sources.

This is a new position for DSI, with potential to grow into a management role overseeing a team that utilizes current and forthcoming technology to deliver the highest quality estimates. The estimator will partner with the V.P. of Construction to develop standard operating procedures and create process maps to streamline estimating. This in‑office position also offers remote work opportunities.

Compensation starts at $70,000 and can rise to $80,000 depending on experience, plus up to a 20% bonus.

Service Master DSI is the largest operator of Service Master Restore and provides the experience and resources to help homeowners and business owners recover after a loss—whether from kitchen fire, flash flood, or other damage. • Review job site information from photos and notes provided by field personnel
• Estimate projects using Xactimate, Symbility, and other estimating software
• Provide training and feedback to estimators
• Analyze and provide feedback on monthly adjustments to estimating software
• Submit complete estimates for approval within the required timeframe
• Experience with 3D scanning software such as Matterport highly desirable
• Communicate effectively with internal team members, project managers, and insurance adjusters
• Produce supplements and change orders as needed

• Expert construction estimator in Xactimate and Symbility
• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience, 10+ preferred
• Produce estimates that deliver excellent profit margins
• Previous experience working with TPAs required
• Ability to handle high volume and execute estimates quickly on tight deadlines
• Capacity to train estimators on preferred guidelines and latest industry trends
