Responsibilities

Interacts and works closely with Inspection teammates, supervisors, and manager as well as interacts and consults with individuals from various other departments

Serves as the go-to person for Inspection team related questions

Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work as needed, and confirming re-work Documents the ratio of good to bad parts on packets in the comment section and notifies the appropriate personnel regarding all products that fail to meet appropriate specifications/rejected products

Assigns work to the Inspection team as necessary

Participates in cross departmental work production based on business needs

Learns and upholds defined quality standards to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and optimize work efficiency

Strives to achieve team and individual specified production targets

Provides complete, accurate documentation when required

Communicates clearly with teammates and supervisors regarding all aspects of the job Reports problems that arise with machines, materials, jobs, or team members; and offers solutions where possible within the scope of the duties of the job Learns and follows Smalley requirements for employee safety, product quality, and productivity

Adheres to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment including: appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), participation in mandatory safety training, and reports any concerns immediately

Keeps workspace clean and organized to maximize safety and productivity by adhering to Smalley’s 6S process

Participates in ongoing training, educational meetings, and daily communication meetings

Responsible for reviewing all applicable departmental policies and procedures

Leads, motivates, and inspires team as well as new hires

Mentors and coaches team to improve current skills and to assist with development of new skills

Provides regular ongoing feedback, both verbally and through the performance management platform

Role models problem-solving, managing difficult conversations, and helps resolve internal issues

Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment

High School Diploma or Equivalent3-5 years proven experience working in Inspection Measuring parts with precision instruments including: micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators, etc.

Performing/checking calibration of inspection instruments

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $21.00 - $24.00 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
