1st Shift Skilled Machinist
Position is responsible for operating and setting up machines on fairly complicated work to close tolerances. May perform setups for other operators and train on set standards and company policies. This position calls up programs and performs manual data input. Makes minor modifications to programs as required with approval and direction of engineering and/or management/supervisors. Role located in Lake Zurich, IL and will be fully on-site.
Pay Range: $27.00/hr. to $40.00/hr.
Schedule: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm | Monday - Friday

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR"), and the ability to access and handle ITAR "Technical Data" as defined by 22 CFR.
Employment Condition: Employment is contingent upon ability to comply with 120.15 and ITAR requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced setup operations (aerospace, new product, etc.), adjust and check out programming and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill.
- Troubleshoot issues prior to getting the engineering department involved.
- Able to set up and run all machines on the production floor.
- Train others on setup and running of CNC machines.
- Measure close tolerances and train others on proper measuring as this position is a certified first piece inspector plus all functions of CNC operator & advanced CNC operator.
- Stack/unload product per instructions and any other material handling as stated.
- Effectively communicate with coworkers and management.
- Production quantity entered accurately in ERP system.
- Accurately input job data per MBP MMS requirements.
- Accurately measure part per inspection requirements, utilizing various gaging and metrology equipment.
- Participate in any team activity as needed.
- Be seen as a "go-to" person to get work accomplished.
- Okuma Multus - 3 - 5 years of experience setting up programs with low volume and high mix.
- Experience in lathe.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Advanced blueprint reading.
- Advanced understanding of GD&T.
- Proper measuring techniques with a variety of gauges.
- Knowledge of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Employment is subject to ITAR and compliance with 120.15.
