Position: COMPUTER ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will provide SW engineering support for the design, development, fielding, and in-service support of Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Software Products.
* You will apply in-depth knowledge of computer theory, algorithms, data structures, programming concepts, programming languages, and computer architecture in the development and maintenance of software for the AAG program.
* You will prepare software specifications, interface specifications, design documents, and test plans for the AAG software products.
* You will review proposals, which involve the integration of rapidly evolving technology and determine the feasibility of such proposals and develop timelines for implementation. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition

* This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Software Developer, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Serve as AAG Software Subject Matter Expert providing lifecycle systems/software engineering, including requirements definition, design, development, integration, test, implementation, and fleet in-service support.
* Apply advanced computer engineering/computer science principles (algorithms, data structures, computer architecture, operating systems, networking protocols) across Windows, Linux, embedded, and real-time environments.
* Develop and document software engineering products such as specifications, interface and module designs, I/O definitions, file/database layouts, and verification/validation test plans; perform feasibility studies and top-down system design for hardware/software interfaces and intersystem integration.
* Coordinate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), In-Service Engineering activities, contractors, and fleet operators/maintainers to translate systems engineering and operational inputs into actionable technical requirements, schedules, and work plans; mentor and train engineers on software design and development best practices.
