Position: GENERAL ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will work with other leaders throughout government and industry to advance technology by the application of new theories, techniques, and processes to current and evolving Navy problems.
* You will provide technical advice, strategy, information, and counsel on cognizant efforts involving autonomy and robotics as applied to SE and ALRE mission sets.
* You will lead basic and applied research to better facilitate the use of said technology to address capability gaps and opportunities across the ALRE and SE mission set.
* You will report findings and status in presentations, reports, papers, and technical meetings. Works with extensive network and applies background and knowledge of autonomy to provide applicable research products to the DoW. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the

Functional Area

and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established time frames.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 661 proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 (Equivalent to the GS-13 grade level) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Serving as an expert authority related to the research, design, development, and analysis of autonomy across the Aircraft Launch and Recover Equipment (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE) Science and Technology (S&T) Portfolio, including robotic autonomous systems (RAS)
2) Incorporating in-depth knowledge of autonomy and robotics technology, including sub-disciplines and related fields such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, perception, localization, mapping, navigation, and locomotion.
3) Demonstrating experience representing organization in meetings and conferences, providing technical advice; strategy; information; and counsel on cognizant efforts involving autonomy and robotics as applied to SE and ALRE mission sets.
4) Providing advice and vision for S&T proposals across IPTs, leading basic and applied research to better facilitate the use of said technology to address capability gaps and opportunities across the ALRE and SE mission set.
5) Initiating, planning for, presenting information for, and securing sponsor ships for autonomous technology research and development to address gaps and overcome operational deficiencies.
