Student Worker – Office of the President
The Student Worker – Office of the President provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the President's Office. This position assists with day-to-day office operations, event preparation, correspondence, scheduling support, office supply inventory management, and special projects, while upholding the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. The student worker will interact with faculty, staff, students, visitors, and external stakeholders in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
Administrative and Clerical Functions
- Provide general office support including greeting visitors and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Assist with filing, scanning, copying, and organizing both electronic and paper documents.
- Print correspondence, meeting materials, and presentation packets.
- Assist with data entry and updating office records and databases.
- Schedule conference rooms and assist with meeting logistics.
- Monitor and replenish office supplies and assist with inventory management. Support special projects and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Executive Office Support
- Assist with preparation of materials for meetings, Board of Trustees activities, and executive events.
- Support event setup, registration, and coordination for President's Office functions.
- Conduct basic research and compile information for executive projects.
- Maintain strict confidentiality with all information encountered in the Office of the President.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Organize and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service while interacting with students, faculty, staff, trustees, donors, and community members.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding executive communications and sensitive University information.
- Work collaboratively with individuals across the University.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the mission and goals of Florida Polytechnic University.
- Exercise sound judgment and initiative while completing assigned tasks.
- Model high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, and ethical behavior.
- Always represent the Office of the President in a professional and courteous manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current students:
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25 and successfully completed 9 credits or more in the most recent semester with a GPA of at least 2.0. - Must be enrolled at least half-time.
- Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or equivalent software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced executive office environment.
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with office technology, including scanners, printers, and multi-function equipment.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Other Specific Requirements of Law:
- This position requires a criminal background check.
- This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

Work Schedule:
The work schedule for this position will be 10 hours a week.
A Student worker is limited to a maximum of 20 work hours per week while classes are in session.
Expected Starting Salary: $14.25 hourly.
