Finance Project Analyst, Corporate Accounting - Lakeland

Overview

Publix Super Markets is a Fortune 100 company known for community involvement, volunteerism, and environmental sustainability. The position provides project management, consulting, reporting, and accounting services for approved strategic initiatives and process improvements in Corporate Accounting. The role aims to ensure ROI for strategic initiatives and scale accounting operations to minimize costs as Publix grows.

• Support the execution of strategic initiatives and process improvements by contributing accounting expertise, coordinating project activities, and ensuring solutions are implemented effectively and aligned with business and system requirements.
• Design and execute test plans to validate system functionality, data integrity, and performance.
• Evaluate existing processes and systems, identify opportunities for innovation, and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Plan, organize, and manage projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and resources are effectively managed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 2 years’ experience in Corporate Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles and general business practices
• Knowledge of Business Analysis
• Demonstrated eagerness, enthusiasm, optimism, and passion when working
• Ability to set priorities, plan and coordinate work activities
• Ability to inspect, cleanse, transform, and model data from various sources to discover useful information and support decision-making
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and explain financial information

• Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting/Finance
• 2 years in financial analysis, planning, process improvements, and accounting principles
• Knowledge of project management techniques and continuous quality improvement methodology
• Basic knowledge of Corporate Accounting functions and Publix Operations
• Basic knowledge of Internal Controls and SOX regulations
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Knowledge of Alteryx for data preparation, blending, analysis, and workflow automation
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visio for creating process flows, system diagrams, and business process models
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse)
• Knowledge of SAP/BW
