Business Process Consultant

Overview

Summit, a member of the Great American Insurance Group, seeks a Business Process Improvement Lead to support independent insurance agents and policyholders across the South, Midwest, and Mid‑Atlantic. The role focuses exclusively on workers’ compensation insurance operations and requires deep analytical skills, experience in process redesign, and a commitment to operational excellence.

• Conduct thorough assessments of existing business processes, identifying interdependencies, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop new processes to meet business objectives, ensuring scalability and alignment with existing workflows.
• Use data‑driven analysis to benchmark performance and design actionable improvement plans.
• Test and calibrate business process designs for accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define key performance indicators and track progress.
• Lead change management initiatives, including training and support during process transitions.
• Facilitate the adoption of new business policies and processes across the organization.
• Support coaching, performance management, and talent decisions for direct reports, when applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years of business process improvement experience; prior insurance experience preferred.
• Progress toward or completion of a professional process improvement designation (Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
• Proficiency in process mapping, data analysis, and project management.
• Experience managing complex process analysis, design, and simulation.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills with the ability to gather and interpret data.
• High level of understanding of organizational business and technology operations.

Location:

Lakeland, FL;
Gainesville, GA; or Baton Rouge, LA. Employees are expected to be on‑site four days a week with one flexible remote day (core days Tuesday–Thursday).
