The Axel Group is seeking a proven, field-driven Superintendent to oversee the day to day on-site execution of multiple commercial projects ranging from $5M–$20M. This is a strong opportunity for a Superintendent who can lead from the front - driving schedule, quality, and safety - while coordinating closely with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, inspectors, and trade partners. This is a 100% on-site role, acting as the company’s primary field representative across project sites in Polk County (Winter Haven / Haines City / Lakeland area).

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
• Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, and to spec.
• Coordinate daily with the Project Manager to align manpower, sequencing, deliveries, inspections, and schedule milestones.
• Maintain strong control of site logistics, short-interval planning, and look-ahead scheduling.
• Drive jobsite safety: enforce company policies, conduct safety talks, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Oversee quality control: confirm workmanship standards, manage punch lists, and proactively address scope / constructability issues.
• Conduct daily and weekly site meetings to review progress, constraints, and next steps.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project schedules.
• Maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, inspectors, and trade partners to keep work moving smoothly.
• Document field activity and coordinate project reporting using construction management software / field technology tools.

• 4+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Proven track record managing 2–3 projects ranging $5M–$20M from start to completion.
• Strong knowledge of safety, scheduling, QA/QC, and subcontractor coordination.
• Comfortable running an organized, high-standard jobsite with strong communication and leadership presence.
• Proficiency with construction management software and common field technology tools.
• Experience in municipal / institutional, education (K-12 / higher ed), and/or healthcare projects preferred.
• No residential or multifamily experience required for this seat (commercial-focused role).
• Local to or willing to commute throughout Polk County (Haines City / Lakeland / Winter Haven area).
