Summit Underground Solutions, a United Utility Services Company, is seeking an experienced and proactive Traveling Safety Representative- HDD / Open Cut Pipeline to oversee and uphold safety compliance on pipeline construction projects. We are looking for a highly motivated Traveling Site Safety Representative to join our team. This position provides field safety leadership for HDD, open-cut pipeline, and underground utility construction projects across the United States.

The Safety Representative partners with operations to proactively identify hazards, coach employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong culture of safety while protecting employees, equipment, the public, and the environment.

• Monitor daily HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) and open cut pipeline activities for safety compliance
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are met across all crews and subcontractors
• Be a supportive resource to educate, train, and coach teammates on health and safety related issues
• Work closely with leadership to maintain safety integration with operations
• Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning sessions
• Lead incident investigations in collaboration with operations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely reporting.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices
• Perform inspections of company vehicles and equipment to verify required safety equipment is present, operational, and properly maintained
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and records
• Oversee safety performance during high-risk activities and provide field leadership during critical operations
