Gun Range Operations Support

Performs responsible clerical and customer service work supporting gun range operations. Duties include processing transactions, checking in patrons, maintaining records, general maintenance, and providing information regarding facility policies and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of the range master and assigned supervisory staff.

Illustrative duties include:

  • Providing customer service; greets patrons and responds to inquiries.
  • Processing cash and electronic transactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Checking in patrons; verifies required documentation and identification.
  • Maintaining accurate records, logs, and reports of daily activities and transactions.
  • Providing information regarding facility rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Answering telephone and directing calls as appropriate.
  • Reporting customer concerns, incidents, and operational issues to supervisory staff.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Assisting with range area maintenance/debris removal.
  • Performing related duties as required.

Knowledge, abilities, and skills include:

  • Knowledge of basic customer service and cash handling practices.
  • Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to learn how to operate recreation scheduling software.
  • Ability to learn and apply departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other employees.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and office equipment.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to secure a valid Florida driver's license at the time of employment.
  • A comparable amount of related training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Special preferences include:

  • Experience in customer service, cashiering, or clerical support.
  • Experience using point-of-sale or registration systems.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.

Special requirements must have the ability to pass a background screening through the Florida Department of Children and Family Services. Applicant must complete an Affidavit of Good Moral Character at the time of interview.
