Job Summary
This part-time adjunct faculty position is responsible for teaching undergraduate radio and podcasting courses, mentoring students, and overseeing the daily operations of the university's on-campus radio station (WSEU 93.5 FM). The role includes facilitating hands-on student learning experiences, supporting live broadcast production, and contributing to the overall mission of the Department of Communication through academic instruction and co-curricular engagement.
Essential Job Tasks:
- Teach undergraduate Radio & Podcasting courses when offered.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of WSEU 93.5 FM radio station.
- Supervise, mentor, and train student staff participating in radio station operations.
- Collaborate with Sports Media faculty to produce live broadcasts of university athletic events.
- Support experiential learning opportunities that integrate classroom instruction with practical broadcasting experience.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and commitment to student success.
- Maintain effective communication with faculty, staff, and students.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chair or Dean.
- Additional duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise and mentor student workers associated with the campus radio station.
ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

EDUCATION
Required
Education:
Master's degree in Communication, Broadcasting, or related field (or 18 graduate hours earned in the field).
Preferred Education
Advanced coursework or specialization in radio, podcasting, or media production.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
N/A
EXPERIENCE
Required:
Professional experience in radio or broadcasting; expertise in operating a professional radio station.
Preferred:
Experience teaching undergraduate courses and mentoring students in applied media environments.
