The Preschool Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting lead teachers to create a nurturing and educational environment for young children. • High school diploma or equivalent.
• DCF Certification
• Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet state‑mandated health and safety requirements.

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent early childhood education certification.
• Previous experience as a preschool teacher assistant or in a similar role.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with classroom technology and educational software.

• Assist lead teachers in preparing and implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
• Supervise and engage with children during classroom activities, playtime, and meals to ensure safety and participation.
• Support children’s social and emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and guiding behavior.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and parents regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
• Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, and cleanup at the end of the day.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
