Job Overview
The Department of Physics at Florida Polytechnic University invites applicants for the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. The appointment is projected to begin on August 10, 2026, and is paid for nine months over a 12‑month period with the potential for reappointment.
This position will primarily focus on lectures for Physics 1 and Physics 2 and laboratory instruction for undergraduates, especially those in their freshman and sophomore years.
ResponsibilitiesTeach introductory physics courses (Physics 1 and Physics
2) and conduct laboratory instruction for first‑ and second‑year students.
- Ph.D. in Physics, or a closely related field, completed before the candidate’s starting date.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Relevant research or industry experience.
- Participation in professional activities and organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with the broader campus community.
Pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
