The Southeastern University College of Business invites applications for the position of Accounting Professor. This role involves instruction, facilitation of student learning, contributing to the academic mission of the college, and fostering student success through innovation and data-driven leadership. The faculty member will help students develop the technical knowledge and values required to become competent accountants capable of navigating a complex, technology-saturated workplace.
Further, this faculty member will lead the way in providing relevant, forward-facing education that prepares students for the evolving demands of a digital-first marketplace.
Salary and Rank:
Commensurate with experience.
Starting Date:
The appointment carries a full-time, one year contract from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

Essential Duties
- May include, but is not limited to the following:
- Teach a variety of accounting courses, including online and in-person, and hybrid formats.
- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum that meets program and accreditation standards.
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies, such as AI literacy and applied data projects, to enhance student readiness for a data-centric marketplace
- Support student success through advising, mentorship, and timely feedback.
- Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives, including committee work and program development.
Qualifications
Education
Required
Education:
An earned Master of Accounting or a Masters degree with 18 hours in Accounting.
Preferred Education:
- Certified Public Account (CPA).
- The ability to teach in multiple disciplines.
- An earned doctorate in business or related field from an accredited institution.
Licenses/Certifications
Certified Public Account (CPA) is preferred
Experience (Teaching or Industry)
Required:
- 5 years of professional industry experience.
- Experience teaching in a higher education environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with data visualization, forecasting, or financial analytics in a professional or academic setting is highly preferred.
- Proven experience teaching in a higher education environment with a focus on multimodal delivery.
- Proficiency in modern accounting software and advanced data analytics platforms.

- Ability and willingness to teach a broad range of accounting courses
