- Academic Affairs Job Description Summary
The Student Worker
- Academic Affairs position will help the Academic Affairs department provide support to faculty in terms of classroom support, event assistance, and day-to-day needs.
- Check classrooms weekly for supplies (markers, rags, etc.).
- Fill copy machines weekly in IST and BARC with paper, request paper from the copy center as needed.
- Check the supply cabinet weekly in each building, make list of what needs to be ordered, fill cabinets when needed.
- Deliver packages as needed to faculty. Communicate with faculty regarding picking up exams, packages, etc.
- Book rooms for meetings, exams, etc. for faculty and staff. Monitor inbox for room requests.
- Help with various documentation – creating forms, maintaining lists, etc.
- Provide front desk support to faculty and students related to spend authorizations, expense reports, registrar related questions, and general Academic Affairs questions.
- Support the Academic Affairs team with events, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Ability to lift/move packages, including boxes of copy paper with use of a rolling cart.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to complete detailed work.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.25 and have successfully completed 9 credits or more in the most recent fall or spring semester with a GPA of 2.0 or better.
- This position requires a criminal background check.
- This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
This position is to start in Fall 2026 semester and will work up to 20 hours per week, dependent on student schedule.
Expected Starting Salary$14.25 hourly.
