Everforth ECS is seeking an Aircraft Avionics / Electric Technician to work in Lakeland, FL. The position will be responsible for the maintenance of the avionics and electrical systems aboard the WP-3D aircraft and the Gulfstream GIV aircraft assigned to the NOAA, Aircraft Operations Center.
The technician will operate, troubleshoot, test, repair, service, update, and replace components on navigation and communication systems, including radars, sensors, radios, navigation, autopilot, collision avoidance, and other systems. Additionally, the technician will perform electrical system maintenance for the airframe, engines, and auxiliary power unit, document work activity in the maintenance digital database, and conduct trend analysis as necessary.
Responsibilities & Skills- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on avionics and communication equipment; troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Read and interpret aircraft electrical schematics, maintenance repair manuals, component mechanical engineering drawings, and other engineering and production documents.
- Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, time domain reflectometers, and multi-meters to maintain aircraft RF cabling, measure wiring resistance, voltage, current, and status of electronic components.
- Perform wiring and electronic systems maintenance using aircraft splicing, terminating, and soldering equipment.
- Use pitot‑static test equipment to check and verify serviceability of altimeters, air speed indication systems; repair and calibrate fuel quantity indicating systems.
- Use engine instrumentation test equipment to check and calibrate turbine inlet temperature, RPM, and fuel flow systems.
- Check and ascertain serviceability of navigation systems such as TACAN, VOR/ILS, ADF, INS, and GPS.
- Troubleshoot, reconfigure, and verify intercommunication systems and digital autopilot systems via computers and software.
- Maintain all aircraft communication systems: VHF, HF, UHF radios, satellite communications, and interface devices.
- Occasional sedentary desk work.
- Walking or standing for extended periods.
- Move, carry, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel approximately 20%; physical labor may involve bending, stooping, outdoor work.
- Hangar setting with large aircraft and equipment.
- Medium consistent background noise.
- Regular bending/stooping required.
- Work may be outside in hot and cold temperatures.
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Self‑motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Adherence to all safety and security policies and regulations, with a commitment to quality work.
- Airframe and Powerplant license required.
Salary Range: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour.
