Summary Description
The Plant Controller position is accountable for the overall integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial results and safeguarding of plant assets, engaging in all aspects of operations to provide timely and comprehensive financial leadership to the Plant Management team. This role manages direct reports responsible for day‑to‑day accounting, reporting and inventory control, and collaborates with Manufacturing Accounting Managers, Plant Management, the North American Business Unit Finance Team, and other Controllers.

- Statutory reporting as required.
- Completion of internal and external audits.
- Support continuous operational and financial results improvement with a focus on cost savings.
- Manage and develop direct reports.
- Overall responsibility for plant operations financial results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness under GAAP and statutory regulations.
- Work with plant management to set annual standards and production yields for reporting & costing analysis.
- Provide financial guidance and support, proactively communicating accounting/issues and recommendations.
- Advising on key business decisions to enable efficient operations and deliver savings.
- Guide capital expenditure requests, preparing/reviewing financial support and ensuring compliance with policy; perform post‑capex audits and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with control procedures and corporate policies at the local level.
- Provide weekly/monthly working capital reporting; manage effective utilization and cash flows, focusing on inventories and capex.
- Maintain communication with peers to foster consistent financial management across units.
- Support external and internal audits and complete other ad‑hoc reporting requests.
- Manage the weekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecast process with Plant Management to deliver accurate results, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Lead the development of the Annual Operating Plan for the plant.
- Collaborate with Plant Management to identify and recommend process improvements that deliver financial benefits or mitigate risks.
- Analyze financial data to facilitate decision‑making at the plant management level.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office).
- ERP System experience (SAP preferred).
- Strong analytical and strategic problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a changing environment.
- High level of accountability and initiative.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Multitasking and organization under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of financial accounting systems, controls and compliance procedures.
- Strong business ethics commitment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Financial analysis skills, interpreting trends and patterns.
- US GAAP/IFRS knowledge.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field plus 5–7 years related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- CPA, CMA or equivalent designation.
- Manufacturing/costing experience.
- Staff management experience.
- Food and Beverage related manufacturing is a plus.
