The purpose of this position is to ensure Publix receives timely and accurate funding for all debit card and credit card transactions at both our stores and ATMs, as well as, prepare related journal entries, general ledger account analysis and miscellaneous reporting to ensure financial statements are complete and accurate. The impact this position has on Publix is having the direct responsibility to ensure all funds are collected for all POS and ATM transactions.
This could have a direct impact on Publix's financial reports and negatively impact Publix financially if funds are not collected timely and accurately.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or another analytical discipline or equivalent experience
- 2 years of accounting or treasury related experience
- knowledge of analytical techniques
- strong interpersonal communication skills (oral and written)
- ability to process a high volume of work accurately including good time management skills
- must be self-motivated, flexible and highly productive
- ability to demonstrate a high-level of professionalism, maturity and tact
- strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- research/documentation skills
- ability to be forward-thinking
- working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
- must be flexible with a willingness to work extended hours, as necessary, to meet department needs.
- Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 4 years of accounting or treasury related experience
- knowledge of Accounting principles
- ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements/standards
- knowledge of QIP methodology
- knowledge of SOX requirements and controls
- knowledge of Banking Regulation E
- knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to government benefits transactions
- intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Share Point

Year End BonusTo reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
