The primary function of the Lead Technician is to maintain a therapeutic, safe, and secure environment to ensure client safety. This Specialist functions as an active part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, providing continuous client care, monitoring, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adult and adolescent clients. The Lead Technician works to support the overall goal of stabilization of client crises to reintegrate into the community.
The Lead Technician will also be required to transport patients if they meet the driving requirements.

- Be the lead in ensuring the daily client program schedule is meaningful, within policy and procedures, and occurring on time.
- Work closely with Charge Nurse on coordinating the needs of patients and Team Tech assignments
- Review admission paperwork and ensure it is completed properly with proper signatures from all parties prior to leaving shift.
- Provides assistance to Team Techs as needed for coverage, paperwork, Credible knowledge, ACT support, and Verbal redirection on creative supportive patient care redirection.
- Provides assistance and supervision to clients in activities of daily living.
- Uses appropriate verbal and physical ACT interventions during client confrontation.
- Provide documentation and feedback based on observations and interactions with CSU clients.
- Concisely and correctly complete documentation and related paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the implementation of day treatment activities and therapeutic groups for clients.
- Provide peer review and constructive feedback for other Psychiatric Technicians.
- Assist with reviews of seclusion/restraint implementation utilized with clients.
- Assist in providing a safe environment for staff and clients.
- Maintains environment by appropriate monitoring practices.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and provide necessary assistance to employees and clients.
- Assist with the discharge process for CSU clients.
- Ability to arrive at work and be ready to work on time.

Education:
Minimum of High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
Prefer 2 years of experience as a direct care worker; a higher educational level can account for years of experience.
Certifications:
Clear and Active current Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certificate preferred.
Training:
Complete all PRC-required pieces of training.
Complete all contact hours required for certification renewal (if applicable)
Attend all PRC clinical and administrative functions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Computer skills
