The Assistant Team Leader assists the CAT Team Program manager in supporting the administrative and clinical needs of the Children’s Community Action Treatment (CAT) Team, a self-contained, integrated, multidisciplinary team providing compressive and intensive community-based treatment to families with children and youth at risk of out-of-home placement due to a mental health disorder. The Assistant Team Leader will assist in providing direct supervision in the absence of the Program Manager as well as providing administrative support to the team.

The Assistant Team Leader also functions as a practicing clinician on the team. This team will be based in Polk County but will serve the Tri-County area of Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties.

  • Attend all scheduled work hours, meeting, training, and other Center functions, including on-call as required.
  • Provide administrative support to staff in the absence of the CAT Team Program Manager.
  • Assist in the day-to-day clinical operations of the CAT Team including scheduling staff work hours to assure appropriate coverage for daily and on call hours, assist in leading scheduled meeting including staff meetings and treatment planning meetings, and continuously evaluate the status of families while completing appropriate planning and coordination of treatment activities to ensure immediate attention to changing client needs.
  • Assist in coordinating the participant admission process, treatment, and support services of the program in coordination with the Psychiatrist/APRN;
  • Participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in implementing staff orientation and training.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving staff documentation in the Credible Electronic Health Record.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships, in coordination with other staff, with law-enforcement and other human services agencies, and with informal community resources (e.g.: landlords, employers, schools, CMOs, JPOs,etc.); conduct clinical assessments and provide direct clinical treatment and support services to participants.
  • Assist in on-call support for crisis intervention and for staff supervision and consultation;
  • Maintain a regular client caseload; and
  • Assist in providing coverage support to clients and families during staff transition or absence to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications Education
  • A Master’s degree in a Behavioral Health Science, such as psychology, mental health counseling, social work, art therapy or marriage and family therapy
  • LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT License preferred. Will considered a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, or Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
Experience
  • Minimum of three years' experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral health needs.
  • Prefer one year of supervisory experience
Training
  • Complete all PRC required trainings
