Directs daily transportation service operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in the management of operational budgets and other resources needed to ensure quality patient care, safe work practices, support the facility to meet operational strategy needs, enhance productivity and revenue, and decrease expenses.
  • Models exemplary customer service and recovery skills and holds team members accountable to these standards.
  • Understands all intricate aspects of patient transport and equipment distribution.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Participates in the interview process and screening of new hires while encouraging and providing peer interview opportunities for team members.
  • Achieves effective communication and facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships among disciplines / departments to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns team members to the daily workflow.
  • Demonstrates and encourages initiative and creativity to continuously improve services, departmental and interdepartmental processes, and any other activities that affect quality.
  • Participates in providing continuing education, orientation, and training including annual Joint Commission in-services and BLS certification.
  • Ensures detailed reports for productivity, staffing, goal performance, etc., are timely and prepared appropriately.
  • Leads team huddles and staff meetings in the absence of the manager.
  • Establishes, interprets, and monitors compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Serves on facility and corporate committees and work groups as needed.
  • Supervises transportation logistics for patients and equipment.
  • Maintains content of various information systems, both clinical and non-clinical.
  • Accountable for patient transport turnaround times to meet throughput goals.
  • Maintains a list of equipment inventory and repair records for equipment replacement.
  • Notifies manager when equipment replacement is needed.
  • Performs daily patient and internal customer rounds to follow up on customer relations issues and patient experience concerns.
  • Ensures timely and accurate billing compliance for equipment.
  • Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in annual budget preparation.
  • Identifies and implements cost‑saving measures with regard to equipment usage, rentals and purchases.
Qualifications
  • Education / Training:
    High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Licensure / Certification:
    If required for area must complete and maintain certification in: BLS / Health Care Provider Certification. National Child Passenger Safety Certification (CPS) by Safe Kids USA – renewed every two years.
  • Experience:

    Four (4) years of directly related work experience. An Associate’s degree may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
