The Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program is responsible for assisting the Program Director with the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Internal Medicine Residency Program sponsored by Lakeland Regional Health (LRH). The Associate Program Director contributes to the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the program.

The Associate Program Director is expected to assist with the integration of the Internal Medicine Residency Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality and promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education and drives efforts to advance residency education through accreditation.

  Associate Program Director - Internal Medicine Residency
• Assists with the organization and direction of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at LRH, including the organization of rotations and other educational activities at all clinical sites that participate in the program. This includes ensuring the quality of didactic and clinical education in all sites that participate in the program.
• Dedicate no less than 20% (at least 8 hours per week) of total professional effort to the administrative and educational activities of the Internal Medicine educational program. Be available and accessible to residents at the primary teaching site(s). Participate in the development of an effective resident advising program. Assist with the supervision any Internal Medicine subspecialty training programs sponsored by the institution and linked to the core program to ensure compliance with the ACGME accreditation standards.
