Job Description Summary
Resonant Clinical Solutions provides comprehensive clinical trial services supporting every stage from discovery to delivery. Our portfolio includes custom kitting, equipment and ancillary solutions, and biorepository and archiving services—serving trials of any size, anywhere in the world. The In‑House Engineering (IHE) Team ensures the accuracy, reliability, and readiness of laboratory and cold‑chain equipment essential to global clinical studies. Our work directly supports patient safety and data integrity through expert calibration, maintenance, service, and repair performed in‑house.
This role is based at Site 008 – Lakeland, Florida, working within our IHE workshop. Reporting to the Global Service Manager (GSM), the Senior BMET Technical Service Engineer will work hands‑on with a wide range of clinical (medical devices) and laboratory equipment and collaborate with cross‑functional associates to support our customers and their global clinical trials. The position provides comprehensive value‑added engineering services, including commissioning, maintenance, calibration, technical repair, asset management services, and technical support.
- Provide technical support for clinical (medical devices), laboratory and refrigeration equipment such as fridges, freezers, centrifuges, incubators, scales, balances, and monitoring systems.
- Assist internal and external stakeholders by troubleshooting technical issues and interpreting technical documentation.
- Perform routine, corrective, and emergency maintenance on clinical, laboratory and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose faults, perform timely repairs, and minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct accurate calibration of clinical, temperature‑controlled and laboratory devices in line with SOPs, GxP, and relevant standards such as ISO 17025.
- Maintain complete, compliant calibration records.
- Create and maintain detailed service documentation and calibration certificates.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with GCP, manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal QMS expectations.
- Support audits and inspections as required.
- Manage tools, parts, and calibration standards effectively.
- Support scheduling and prioritization of IHE engineering work requests and contribute to OTIF performance KPI achievement.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Logistics, Operations, and Customer Service teams.
- Provide technical input for equipment upgrades and purchasing decisions.
- Support or mentor apprentice engineer(s).
- Lead daily IHE stand‑up meetings/huddles.
- Communicate repair status, inspections, unusual findings, and customer concerns to management.
- Direct and oversee subcontractor activities while on‑site.
- Maintain technical expertise through ongoing training; domestic or international travel may be required.
- Ensure all service documentation is accurate, complete, and entered correctly into the ERP system.
- Support responses to product recalls and alerts as directed by leadership.
- Assist with special engineering or operational projects as assigned.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration for clinical, laboratory and cold‑chain equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and document malfunctioning devices.
- Conduct safety and performance tests to ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturers on advanced troubleshooting.
- Evaluate equipment for potential upgrades or replacement.
- Maintain an organized spare‑parts inventory.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist with IHE inventory receipts and cycle counts.
- Respond to technical inquiries via phone, email, and digital platforms.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, disinfection records, and compliance documentation.
- Required:
- Proven experience installing, diagnosing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing clinical (medical devices), infusion pumps, laboratory and refrigeration equipment.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, including low‑temperature and cascade (-80°C) systems.
