Job DescriptionWe’re hiring a Lead Cloud Engineer for our Data & AI team. In this role, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and scale AI solutions and frameworks. Your expertise will power innovative, generative AI technologies that solve complex challenges and deliver transformative business impact.
Location:
Hybrid (Lakeland, FL). To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

- Lead deployment and maintenance of AI infrastructure in Azure and GCP.
- Responsible for maintaining Infrastructure as Code for AI and model workloads and compute resources.
- Lead strategy meetings to improve shared AI infrastructure and platform services.
- Own standards for deploying AI services, model workloads, and inference infrastructure in Azure and GCP.
- Lead automation initiatives to improve CI/CD pipelines for AI application teams.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for AI infrastructure, model deployments, and pipeline failures.
- Troubleshoot application and model workload deployment issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related analytical field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in Public Cloud Services:
PaaS, database services, network infrastructure (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, VPC, DNS), security, and monitoring tools. - 2+ years in Version Control Systems:
Git, Azure Dev Ops. - 1+ years of experience using AI CLI tools.
- 1+ years of experience in Production Support: troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- 1+ years of experience in Scripting and Automation: writing scripts and automating processes.
- 9+ years in Public Cloud Services:
PaaS, database services, network infrastructure (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, VPC, DNS), security, and monitoring tools. - 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams and projects.
- 3+ years of Cross-Platform
Experience:
Experience with multiple cloud providers (Azure, Google Cloud). - 1+ years of experience in Cost Management:
Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud costs and resource utilization. - 1+ years of experience in Configuration Management:
Experience with Infrastructure as code, such as Terraform. - Advanced Cloud
Certifications:
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert. - Architectural Design
Skills:
Proven track record in designing scalable and resilient cloud architecture.

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
