Apartment Painter
Base pay range: $18.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Position OverviewThe responsibilities of the Painter position are detailed below. In this role, the individual should maintain a positive rapport with co‑workers, residents, and provide a high level of detailed follow‑up with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Executive Director. The Painter should display a proactive, positive attitude and perform all job functions as described below.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities- Painting interiors using a spray compressor or brush applied latex
- Painting exterior doors with a roller or brush
- Climbing stairs or working from a ladder
- Making drywall repairs, taping and sanding
- Caulking, masking and papering in preparation for paint
- Lifting paint containers (5 gallons or more) and compressor equipment
- Handling paint thinner and other chemicals
- Pressure washing exterior surfaces
- Maintaining equipment such as compressors, hoses, spray guns, brushes and drop cloths
- Operating carpet cleaning equipment when needed
- Knowledge of using hand tools (putty knives, razor knives, scraper, screwdriver, etc.) safely and efficiently
- Coordinate paint schedule with supervisor, techs, housekeeper, carpet cleaner and office staff to ensure the apartment is ready by deadline
- Safely operate golf cart
- Follow all safe workplace rules and practices in order to prevent on‑the‑job injuries
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Ability to apply sound decision‑making
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork by assisting co‑workers
- Ability to communicate professionally and adapt interpersonal skills to a variety of audiences
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, feel or grip, and reach with hands and arms while performing standard duties.
- Frequently required to climb stairs, walk, talk, hear, and drive a golf cart while on the property.
- Kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, stretching, twisting, climbing stairs and lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently use common office equipment, telephone, computer, keyboard, mouse, two‑way radio, and variety of different keys.
- Full‑time position;
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - 96 hours PTO accrued in first year of service
- 136 hours of PTO after two years and above
- 176 hours of PTO after 7 years or more
- Health/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance available after 60‑day waiting period
- Background screening required
- 90‑day probationary period
