Mechanical Assembler LeadThe Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components, sub‑assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role supports production by ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe assembly of parts used in custom metal fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assembly & Production
- Assemble mechanical components, hardware, and fabricated parts according to blueprints and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete assemblies
- Fit, align, and adjust parts to meet dimensional and functional requirements
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and rework as needed
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and work orders
- Verify part quantities, materials, and specifications before assembly
- Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper function
- Document work performed and report any discrepancies or defects
- Work closely with Fabrication, Welding, and Engineering teams to resolve assembly issues
- Communicate material shortages, design concerns, or process improvements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, including PPE requirements
- Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly
- Participate in continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and measurements
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices (calipers, tape measures, torque tools)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or industrial equipment assembly
- Familiarity with pneumatic or hydraulic systems
- Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or hoists (certifications a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the production floor
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working around machinery, tools, and fabrication equipment
