As a Backup Press Operator Lead, you will support Brightstar Lottery's production operations by assisting with the setup, operation, and monitoring of advanced flexographic printing presses used to manufacture instant lottery tickets. Working under the direction of the Press Manager, you will help ensure safe, efficient production while maintaining strict quality, security, and performance standards in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role will be located onsite in Lakeland, Florida.
WhatYou'll Do
- Interpret job sheets to ensure accurate press setup and production execution.
- Select anilox rolls, print sleeves, substrates, and materials for each production run.
- Prepare and stage ink systems to meet press and deck requirements.
- Monitor press performance, inspection systems, and print quality throughout production.
- Adjust impression settings, plate positioning, and registration to maintain accuracy.
- Operate unwinders and manage substrate flow while loading and unloading production materials.
- Record production data, material usage, and quality control samples to support traceability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing, printing, mechanical, or industrial environments.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work safely with industrial equipment.
- Experience following detailed procedures, specifications, and production workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required
- Experience operating flexographic printing presses.
- Background in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in highly regulated production settings.
- Familiarity with print quality inspection processes and controls.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift.
- Regularly lift 20 to 40 pounds.
- Frequently bend, reach, twist, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Perform repetitive motions and safely use hand tools.
- Work comfortably around noise, heat, inks, paper dust, and moving machinery.
- Visually inspect printed materials to identify quality concerns and defects.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $33.00 per hour. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses.
