Medical Director / Supervising Physician

Position Summery

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide quality medical care in our long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the supervising physician, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to residents, with a focus on chronic disease management, preventative health, and overall quality of life

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents including history and physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Provide ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions commonly encountered in long-term care populations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state licensure and facility protocols.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapist, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventative care.
  • Respond to urgent and emergent resident needs and support facility staff in critical situations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
  • Adhere to federal, state and facility regulations, ensuring quality standards and compliance in all aspects of care.
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Florida
  • Certification through NCCPA (for PAs) and national NP certification (ANNC or AANP)
  • Valid DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Prior experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, or long-term care preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with residents, families, and staff.
