Faculty - Nursing; BSN Med​/Surg

Job Summary

SEU’s Nursing department is seeking to fill a Nursing Faculty position in the Medical/Surgical specialization of the BSN program. The role is a full‑time, 12‑month teaching position requiring a teaching load of 27 hours per academic year. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will serve on committees and fulfill other functions assigned by the chief nurse administrator. Instruction will primarily focus on the BSN program, with possible teaching in the ADN program.

Faculty rank is commensurate with educational background and level of nursing education experience.

• Classroom and clinical teaching
• Simulation and lab responsibilities
• Committee responsibilities, as designated
• Program development responsibilities that correlate with level of experience
• Attendance at university functions, faculty meetings, and other events as required
• Chapel attendance as time permits, in accordance with the teaching schedule
• Student advising after the first year of teaching

• Education (Required):
  Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Education (Preferred):
  Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Licenses/Credentials (Required):
  Unencumbered State FL RN License.
• Experience (Required):
  Minimum 5 years professional nursing experience as an RN.
• Experience (Preferred):
  Medical‑surgical experience; critical‑care experience; minimum 2 years nursing education experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):
  Teaching and advising; simulation/lab proficiency; medical‑surgical and critical‑care knowledge; ability to teach across the curriculum; personal commitment to teaching in a Christian university and alignment with SSEU’s mission.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Preferred):
  Medical‑surgical; critical‑care; psychiatric.
