Retail & Store Manager, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tours to teach and communicate company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way service model, supports customer service initiatives and community outreach programs, resolves customer needs and complaints, and develops action plans to correct deficiencies and improve processes.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing profit and loss statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses, ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring and assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, communicating consistently, fostering a sense of belonging, and recruiting qualified talent.
Ensures compliance with company policies, supports the Open Door Policy, and promotes the company's values of integrity, service to customers, and continuous improvement. Builds high‑performing teams, embraces differences, and creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported and connected.
- Minimum:
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For firearms sales positions: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For ammunition only facilities: current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Required to attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including responsibilities of performance management, mentoring, hiring and firing.
