Overview
Position Summary:
Members choose Sam’s Club for quality, fresh food at low cost. As part of the produce team, you’ll help ensure availability, cleanliness, and freshness of produce, and you’ll be on the front lines of customer service to enhance the member’s shopping experience.
- Be a Team Member:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products; collaborate with cross-functional teams; educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for customer service; be flexible to business needs and work in other areas; track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage in a timely manner. - Be an Expert:
Understand processes and specifications related to quality of produce (taste, preparation method, use, seasonality); prepare (trim, crisp, package, scale) products to established standards; maintain product safety and sanitation guidelines; comply with laws, regulations, and company policies related to produce quality. - Be a Techie:
Use digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience; use handheld technology to make decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them. - Be an Owner:
Drive area performance using digital tools and perpetual inventory management to stock and rotate products; ensure quality and date control standards; eliminate waste; assist customers per company policies and procedures. - Be a Talent Ambassador:
Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member’s experience in the department; model high‑quality service and products; demonstrate energy, commitment, and passion for the work. - Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity; implement related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; apply these in business processes and practices.
- Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; identify priorities and deadlines; communicate progress; address improvement opportunities; adapt to change and feedback.
