Position Description
  • Operate different types of cranes/crawler cranes (Tadano ATF 100G-4, ATF 130G-5, Manitowoc 999, MLC
    300, Grove 9150, 765E)
  • Read and understand load charts for lifting type equipment
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles using multipoint rigging techniques
  • Perform different rigging challenges
  • Assist with rigging, driving forklifts, and other equipment as part of crane-cab duties
  • Bring problems/concerns to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Director
  • Follow daily procedures as set forth in job orientations and trainings
  • Perform routine inspections on assigned equipment and notify supervisor of defects or needed repairs
  • Clean and maintain equipment regularly
  • Adhere to the company's safety policies and OSHA safety procedures to create an accident-free work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Certification required.
  • NCCER/NCCCO (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Rigging Certification a plus.
  • Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and characteristics to operate heavy equipment.
  • Obtain proper training and certifications prior to operating equipment
  • Experience with variety of rigging equipment shackles, straps, slings, rope, hoists
  • Strong working knowledge of lifting signals and communications
  • Considerable knowledge of crane operating principles
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Operators must have good eyesight, hearing, and better than average coordination in order to operate both hand and foot levers simultaneously
  • Must have the necessary dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Operators must have good judgment to perform complicated tasks and must be able to work closely with other crafts without constant supervision.
  • Operators must be alert constantly and observant of their surroundings.
  • Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is generally loud.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
