AP4 Controls Solutions is seeking an Electrical Technician. AP4 specializes in turbine, control and excitation parts and services to keep power plants operational. ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Technician (ET) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring all equipment is up to code and safe to use. The ET works closely with plant maintenance personnel and AP4 field engineers to maintain and repair equipment in a timely manner. This position is remote but requires frequent travel throughout the United States.
Whatyou will do
- Install, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot all types of electrical equipment, including circuit cards, controllers, instrumentation, starters, switches, relays, fuses, buss bars, circuit breakers, etc.
- Upgrade, modify, repair, and commission turbine and generator control systems in power plant facilities.
- Work with high and low voltage AC/DC systems.
- Read and interpret equipment blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Assist AP4 Field Engineers as required.
- Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and meets all code requirements.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and time spent on each job.
- Use electrical testing equipment and tools proficiently.
- Assist and support lock-out/tag-out activities (LOTO).

- Associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent related field experience.
- Electrician and/or I&C skillsets are preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting preferred.
- Power plant experience with GE controls, excitation, and LCI systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Working knowledge of electrical code requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Availability to respond to emergency calls after hours.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands.
