Industrial Lead Electrician

The Lead Industrial Electrician will undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. This job involves installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing appliances. This position is based out of Lakeland, FL area.

Essential functions include following all safe workplace practices, complying with all applicable safety and health rules, reading and interpreting schematic drawings and documentation, estimating materials and time needed to complete activities, installing, maintaining, and repairing secondary electrical systems, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, maintaining documentation to record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests, training and providing subject matter expertise to electricians, and upholding the principles of the company's food safety certification program.

The working environment includes working indoors and outdoors, often exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures, hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations, loud sounds, high noise levels, very bright or inadequate lighting conditions, and contaminants.

Competencies include excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability, problem solving, troubleshooting, and judgement skills, knowledge of tools and instruments required to perform maintenance and new installations, a positive, confident, and motivated attitude, and thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.

Supervisory responsibilities include no direct supervision, but will provide expertise and training for electrician. Direct reports include none.

Required experience includes 4+ years of relevant electrical experience, experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems, knowledge of the use of electrical and hand tools, and demonstrated ability to understand electrical drawings and blueprints. Preferred experience includes experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and knowledge of basic instrumentation and calibration. Required education includes an associate's degree in Industrial Electrical Technology or similar field, completion of recognized apprenticeship as an electrician, or equivalent work experience or vocational training.

Physical demands include the ability to frequently move materials/machinery up to 50 pounds, perform tasks that involve being low to the ground, reaching high and low, and moving around a construction area, use small, hard-to-grip tools and manipulate hard-to-reach wires and other materials, ascend/descend ladders, understand work instructions, communicate information and ideas so others will understand, distinguish different wires based on their colors, perceive depth well and identify and distinguish electrical materials at varying distances, get into awkward positions and work in cramped spaces, such as crawl spaces under floors.
